I have looked at Amazon EC2 but it seems a bit more expensive than what I'm getting at SliceHost. Furthermore, SliceHost has a very easy management portal whereas right now EC2 is mostly controllable through a REST web service only as I understand it. SliceHost also has quite a few articles for Rails hosting and there is an established community around it. I will probably keep an eye on EC2 though - I think the concept of dynamic computing power like what EC2 is bringing to the surface is a powerful and long-lasting idea -- making more economical use of computing power.

Glad to hear you finally made the switch to Google Apps! Between Google Apps and your nifty new Macbook, you're a pretty cool kid now :)
Did you look at all into the Amazon EC2 hosting?
